Privacy Policy

Layer Zero Studios is a South African sole proprietorship operated by Pieter Kemp (trading as Layer Zero Studios). We provide AI education (the Academy), custom software development, and AI products. Our website is at layerzerostudios.com.

We collect only what you voluntarily provide:

• Name and email address — when you register for the Academy or sign up for the toolkit
• WhatsApp number — when you provide it during Academy registration for session communication
• Track and session choice — the workshop level and date you select at registration
• Payment information — processed entirely by Dodo Payments (PCI-DSS compliant). We never see or store your card details
• Email content — if you email us, we keep the conversation to provide support

We do not collect browsing behaviour, analytics, cookies for tracking, or any data from third-party sources — except anonymous, aggregated usage analytics via Google Analytics (yes, the cookie set by Google) that help us understand which pages are visited. No personally identifiable information is captured by this analytics. You can block it via your browser’s privacy settings.

• To process your Academy registration and confirm your booking
• To send you session details (venue, date, pre-work) via email or WhatsApp
• To send you the free AI Toolkit you requested
• To invoice and collect payment through Dodo Payments
• To communicate with you about your booking or enquiry

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for marketing without your consent. We do not share it with third parties except as required to provide the service (see section 4).

We share the minimum necessary data with these service providers:

• Dodo Payments — your name, email, and payment amount to process the transaction. Dodo handles all payment data; we never see your card details
• Supabase — your registration data (name, email, WhatsApp, preferences) is stored in our Supabase database, hosted in the US (AWS us-east-1)
• Brevo — your name and email, to send booking confirmations and the AI Toolkit

Each provider acts as a data processor under our instruction and has its own security measures. We remain responsible for your data.

Your registration data is stored in Supabase, hosted on AWS in the United States (us-east-1 region). Email records are stored in Brevo (EU). Payment data is stored by Dodo Payments — we do not store payment details.

Under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate or outdated information
• Delete — request that we delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object — object to the processing of your data
• Complain — lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (SA)

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@layerzerostudios.com. We will respond within 30 days.

We keep your registration data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Payment records are retained for 5 years (SARS requirement). If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS)
• Database access is restricted to authorised systems only
• Payment processing is handled entirely by Dodo Payments (PCI-DSS Level 1)
• We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank account details

We may update this policy as our services evolve. The “Updated” date at the top reflects the latest change. Material changes will be notified via email if we have your contact information.
